Birth of the Reaper

Vonte Da Reaper, born Devonte Lakeith Lockwood, is the son of Chaquetha Re (Rest In Heaven) and Derrick Lockwood. He was born in the small town of Jasper, Texas. He is the oldest of 5 (11 when including his fathers side). His family wasn't wealthy and he had his share of hardships growing up. He discovered his passion at a young age just freestyling (free verse) with his oldest cousin JaCorey Spearman. He never fully grasped wanting to be a rapper until he reached his high school years. If you were to ask him what made him rap you will get multiple different stories from rapping an a hotel room with his friends and at the time classmates Jarvis and Anthony. To rapping in the school cafeteria with then friend and classmate Kadarius Brooks. And his favorite reading his Man be not proud response to the poem Death Be not proud in his favorite English class. Whatever, story you believe you can not deny his passion for the art. He start by dropping a joint mixtape with then friend Kadarius under the stage name King Wood. They worked as a unit under the moniker True Kingz. He would then make a solo tape entitled Takin Tha Throne. Both projects bombed and it wasn't until he released his tape Team of me that you can see his talent begin to grow. He would work on multiple projects under the name of King Wood. Before late 2015 changing his name to Vonte Da Reaper and dropping a tape entitled The Broken Tape where most songs he will admit his was under the influence of multiple drugs trying to deal with the loss of his biggest fan his mother. He would sober up drop the tapes Are You Happy Now and Team of Reap. He is currently working on three more projects one coming up soon with the release date being October 1 2016. He is also working on building a label Mizfit Records. His dream is to make it big so he can create a better life for his wife his kids and himself. He vows he will never stop making music until he is a household name.
